Calvary Chapel Pahrump Valley’s small groups have a new name! We are going to call these groups “Life Groups,” because that is what God intends to happen as His people gather.
A Life Group is a name for a group made up of true believers that have life through Jesus Christ. They then share that life with each other and with the needy world around us. This is the intention of every Life Group of Calvary Chapel Pahrump Valley.
- John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
- 1 John 5:11-12 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
- John 15:12-13 “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”
- John 4:35 “Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!”
There are different kinds of life groups, but they all have this in common: they will embrace and follow the simple practices of the early apostolic church of the 1st century. The life groups will not be a replica of the Sunday morning service (which is wonderful!). Life groups will be interactive, relational, and missional groups that will contribute greatly to the overall health and maturity of those who are part of Calvary Chapel Pahrump Valley.
- Acts 2:42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
- Acts 2:46-47 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.
